Here are five points:

1. The new facility, equipped with three rooms, will accommodate growing demand for GI services.

2. Physicians Endoscopy and Gastroenterology Associates opened the ASC on May 23.

3. In 2010, Physician Endoscopy bought a minority ownership in AGEC, which helped the AGEC expand through the partnership.

4. The ASC is 6,040 square feet.

5. The ASC’s 11 AGEC- affiliated gastroenterologists are projected to perform 8,000 procedures each year.

“The group originally came to us needing clinical and operational oversight knowing that at some point down the road they would grow and expand,” said Frank Principati, COO, Physicians Endoscopy. “We celebrated over five years with them, and their growth each year has been phenomenal. Over the last year or so, we’ve gone from the ground up. From a vacant lot through construction for a new three-room center. The new building will give them the ability to expand for even more future growth.”
