Opposition once again gathers to contest TriStar's $17M ASC project: 4 key takeaways

Hospital Corporation of America's TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., won a certificate of need battle to move its surgery center, but the project's opponents are gathering once again, according to a Nashville Business Journal report.

Here are four things to know about the relocation project and its opposition.

1. The $17 million project would relocate the medical center's Southern Hills Surgery Center to Brentwood, Tenn.

2. Several nearby surgical practices, many of which are affiliated with Nashville-based Saint Thomas Health, contested the initial CON application.

3. The same practices are challenging the project once again, according to the report.

4. It could be several years before the project can move forward.
