Ohio State University opens $45M sports medicine center, equipped with surgery center — 5 things to know

Columbus-based Ohio State University is opening Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Here are five things to know:

1. The 116,000-square-foot facility costs $45 million.

2. Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute features a surgery center, imaging services, physical therapy and research space.

3. Sports psychologists, nutritionists and exercise experts will staff the facility.

4. Each year, Ohio State expects 35,000 visits with that number jumping to more than 45,000 annual visits over the next five years.

5. Through the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute, Ohio State aims to achieve three missions — clinical care, education and research.
