Novant Health Receives CON for North Carolina ASC
Novant Health has received a certificate of need to build an ASC in Holly Springs, N.C., according to reports in The News & Observer and Triangle Business Journal.
The $8.2 million, 13,000-square-foot ASC could open as early as Oct. 2012 and is expected to have three ORs and one procedure.
Novant beat out Rex Hospital, WakeMed Cary Hospital and Duke University Health System for the opportunity to build the ASC; the other organizations were seeking CONs to build surgery centers or expand existing facilities, according to the Triangle Business Journal report.
Novant previously had a 41-bed, $100 million community hospital proposal for Holly Springs rejected by state regulators, according to the reports.
