North Carolina Hospital's Endoscopy Center CON Denied

A certificate of need application by Mission Hospital, based in Asheville, N.C., to relocate an endoscopy unit to a new outpatient center has been denied by state regulators, according to an Asheville Citizen-Times report.

Mission applied in March for the CON to move the endoscopy unit from its campus in Asheville to the planned outpatient center in Fletcher, N.C.

The proposed move of the endoscopy unit has faced opposition by Hendersonville-based Park Ridge Health and some local physicians.

Mission Hospital intends to appeal the CON rejection by the N.C. Division of Health Service Regulation, according to the report.
