The Public Health and Health Planning Council of the New York Department of Health has the Niagara Ambulatory Surgery Center Project on its agenda for Nov. 21, according to a Buffalo Business First report.
The DOH has given the $2.3 million project an initial recommendation of approval for a five-year certification period. The project will receive a final ruling on Dec. 12.
The 6,614-square-foot surgery center will be Niagara County's first freestanding ASC.
Niagara ASC will be owned by the ophthalmologists Michael Endl, MD, Thomas Elmer, MD, and P. Emmett Hurley, MD, of Fichte Endl & Elmer Eyecare.
The center is expected to perform 2,243 surgical procedures in its first year and as many as 2,796 by its third year.
