New NY Surgery Center Approved for Bayside Despite Hospital Protest
An application for a certificate of need to build a new ambulatory surgery center in Bayside, N.Y., has been approved despite objection from Flushing (N.Y.) Hospital, according to a Crain's New York report.
The $7.4 million, 13,460-square-foot ASC will feature four operating rooms.
A group that includes 23 physicians would own a 50 percent share of the ASC. A second partner comprised of four individuals who operate other ASCs in the area would own 20 percent. A third partner is NYEE Holding Corp., a venture of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
