Georgia Supreme Court Overrules CON Objections, Kennestone Hospital to Build Surgery Center

In 2010, Kennestone Hospital received preliminary certificate of need approval for the construction of East Cobb Surgery Center in East Cobb County, Ga., but Northside Hospital in Atlanta, opposed the project, according to an Albany Herald report.

The Georgia Court of Appeals sided with Northside Hospital, effectively derailing the project. But, this week the Georgia Supreme Court has overturned the lower court's ruling. The project will now move forward.
