Children's Hospital in LA opens outpatient center in Encino — 10 things to know

A new outpatient care center just opened its doors for patients in the San Fernando Valley, according to the Daily Press.

Here are 10 things to know about the center:

1. Children's Hospital Los Angeles opened its new outpatient care center on June 2, 2015.

2. The facility will be staffed with physicians 24 hours a day.

3. The staff at the outpatient center will include physicians who are board-certified in pediatric specialties and subspecialties.

4. Physicians at the center specialize in hematology-oncology, nephrology, neurology, orthopedics, pediatric surgery and urology.

5. Robert Adler, MD, will be the chief medical officer at the outpatient care facility.

6. The staff at Children's Hospital Los Angeles is ranked fifth among children's hospitals across the nation and were voted number one in California by U.S. News & World Report.

7. The outpatient center will consist of seven exam rooms in its 3,000 square foot center.

8. The Encino outpatient care center will be able to accommodate children who had a medical procedure at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles for pre-operation evaluations and post-operation follow-ups.

9. Richard D. Cordova, FACHE, president and CEO of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, believes that the center will serve as a vital investment in the center's ability to help families in the San Fernando Valley.

10. The Encino care center will be able to provide more services for patients once the demand increases.
