Chicago's Swedish Covenant Hospital to Build Surgery Center to Accommodate Increased Volume
The eight-story Foster Medical Pavilion at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago will house an outpatient surgery center and physician offices for more than 40 specialties, according to a Center Square Journal report.
According to the report, the new surgery center is being created in response to an increase in the hospital's surgical volumes, following an investment in new technologies and programs.
For example, the hospital recently acquired the latest generation of da Vinci Si HD robotic technology and launched the Chicago Back Institute, which specializes in minimally invasive spine procedures.
The physician offices will house orthopedics, pediatrics, neurology, thoracic, podiatry, pain management and urology specialists.
