Baylor Health Care System and United Surgical Partners International have partnered to open a joint venture, $35 million surgical facility in Fort Worth, Texas, according to a Star-Telegram report.

The 82,000-square-foot Baylor Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth will include 30 inpatient beds, a four-bed intensive-care unit and three-bed emergency department. The building will replace Baylor's smaller surgery center, which opened in 1998. An estimated 75 percent of the procedures performed at the new facility will be outpatient.

The facility will be jointly owned by USPI, Baylor and physicians.

USPI is currently partnered with Baylor in more than a dozen projects in Texas.
