Tommy Lasorda, a former Los Angeles Dodgers player, will headline the groundbreaking of the Orthopaedic Institute for Children Ambulatory Surgery Center in Los Angeles. Here are three things to know.
1. Mr. Lasorda, a baseball hall of famer, will be present at the groundbreaking along with Los Angeles District 9 Councilman Curren D. Prince Jr. and OIC President and CEO Antony A. Scaduto, MD.
2. The new surgery center is 13,000 square feet. It houses two operating rooms and six pre- and postoperative suites. The project cost $10 million.
3. OIC's surgery center is the first ASC in Los Angeles to follow the city's permitting process, rather than state of Federal.
