Barrington Pain and Spine Institute Gets State Approval for Spine Surgery Services

Barrington (Ill.) Pain and Spine Institute's certificate of need to include spine surgery in its offerings was approved by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Sergey Neckrysh, MD, chief of spine surgery in the department of neurosurgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Robert Erickson, MD, former professor of neurosurgery at the University of Chicago and now in private practice, will be the first spine surgeons performing procedures at the ambulatory surgery center.

The surgery center already provides interventional pain management services, and physicians from the Eligin-based Illinois Pain Institute will continue to perform procedures there, according to the report.
