Barnabas Health & Robert Wood Johnson Health System sign partnership agreement, to include ambulatory centers: 4 key notes

Barnabas Health and Robert Wood Johnson Health System have signed a definitive agreement which outlines the merger that will create one of the largest health systems in the country under the name RWJ Barnabas Health.

Here are four key notes:

1. RWJ Barnabas Health will annually represent operating revenues of over $4.5 billion and will represent 260,000 inpatient admissions and 2 million outpatient visits.

2. The new system will include 11 acute care hospitals, three children's hospitals, a pediatric rehabilitation hospital, a behavioral health center, ambulatory care centers and more.

3. The system will also include give fitness and wellness centers.

4. Barry H. Ostrowsky, President and Chief Executive Officer of Barnabas Health, will serve as the inaugural President and CEO.
