8 things to know about HCA's Q4 results

Hospital Corporation of America reported its fourth quarter results for 2015.

Here are eight things to know:

1. HCA's revenue reached nearly $10.25 billion, up 6.4 percent from the same period of 2014. Revenue includes a $68 million increase in Medicaid revenue due to the Texas Medicaid Waiver Program.

2. Net income attributable to HCA was valued at $582 million, or $1.40 per share, up from $527 million in the fourth quarter of 2014.

3. HCA's adjusted EBITDA reached approximately $2.13 billion, up 8.9 percent from the same period in 2014.

4. Cash flows from operating activities totaled $1.558 billion, down from $1.627 billion in the fourth quarter of 2014.

5. Outpatient surgeries rose 2.2 percent, compared to the fourth quarter of 2014.

6. HCA's s facility equivalent admissions rose 2.9 percent, and same facility admission increased 1.6 percent.

7. Same facility revenue per equivalent admission rose 2.6 percent from the fourth quarter of 2014.

8. Supplies, salary and benefits and other operating expenses totaled $8.12 billion, or 79.3 percent of revenues, compared to $7.719 billion in the same period of 2014.
