5 recent ASC industry acquisitions

The first month of 2015 has had a number of ambulatory surgery center industry transactions, ranging from the company level to the individual center. Here are five recent acquisitions.

Sheridan, now the physician services division of AmSurg, acquired the radiology services business Radisphere. Radisphere, which has offices in Ohio and Connecticut, is a group of more than 100 radiologists.

AtlantiCare, an Atlantic City, N.J.-based healthcare organization, has opened its third outpatient surgery center. AtlantiCare's newest surgery center, located in Little Egg Harbor, N.J., is the former Sea Oaks Surgery Center. The health system recently acquired the center.

Bloss Memorial Healthcare District, based in Atwater, Calif., acquired the Central California Dental Surgicenter. Bloss previously owned two-third of the center, but spent $300,000 to acquire the remaining stake.

NYC Surgical Associates affiliate, Centers for Special Surgery, agreed to acquire 90 percent interest in an ASC. The acquisition of the 5,000-square-foot single operating room ambulatory surgery center, located in Rockland County, N.Y., is subject to the approval of New York State's Public Health and Health Planning Council and the New York State Department of Health.

Physicians Realty Trust, a self-managed healthcare properties REIT, acquired two West Tennessee Bone and Joint buildings in Jackson for $9.9 million. The buildings house an ASC, physician offices and imaging services.
