13 new ASCs opened or announced in April 2017

Here are 13 ASCs that were announced or opened in the past month, beginning with the most recent.

Cincinnati-based Mercy Health set its sights on a new medical facility in Perrysburg, Ohio. The facility will add a surgery center, a hospital and medical offices to the health system's existing Perrysburg Medical Center.

Findlay-based Northwest Ohio Orthopedics & Sports Medicine received approval for a 13,332-square-foot surgery center. The practice expects construction to start in June.

The Tilden (Wis.) Ambulatory Surgery Center is opening a new medical facility. The new center will include four operating rooms.

New York City-based Lenox Health Greenwich Village announced plans to open an ASC in the National Maritime Union Building in New York City.

Honolulu-based Kaiser Permanente Hawaii opened a 9,444-square-foot ASC at Mapunapuna Medical Office on April 18.

Physician Partners of America held a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 15 for its Habana Ambulatory Surgery Center in Tampa, Fla.

St. Louis-based architecture firm HOK teamed up with Omaha-based RDG Planning & Design on the Lauritzen Outpatient Center. Lauritzen Outpatient Center costs $71 million and will consolidate Omaha-based Nebraska Medical Center's outpatient services.

Florida-based Lee Health received board approval to build its new $140 million outpatient medical campus in Estero, Fla. The campus will house a surgery center and a wellness center.

Los Angeles-based Shriners for Children Medical Center held a dedication ceremony for its new facility, which features an ASC. The 75,000-square-foot facility will house an ASC in its outpatient care facility.

Hospital for Special Surgery plans to open the HSS ASC of Manhattan in June.

Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center broke ground on its new outpatient medical building in Oak Brook, Ill. The surgery center will be on the third floor and providers will offer musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal and other surgical procedures.

Georgia-based Resurgens Orthopaedics is strengthening its outpatient presence and opening a new surgery center in Fayetteville, Ga., in summer 2017.

Weston-based Cleveland Clinic Florida broke ground on Family Health and Ambulatory Surgery Center, in Coral Springs, Fla. The 72,000-square-foot ASC will likely open in 2018.
