Here are 28 ambulatory surgery center joint ventures and acquisitions so far in 2015.

Acquisitions

Physicians Realty Trust, a self-managed healthcare real estate investment trust based in Milwaukee, acquired the Laser & Surgery Center of the Palm Beaches in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Caddis Health Care Real Estate, a Texas-based investor, purchased Manatee Surgical Center for $5.46 million on June 11.

Foundation HealthCare sold its 20 percent stake in Heritage Park Surgical Hospital in Sherman, Texas, to Texas Health Venture Heritage Park for $9.3 million.

Tenet Healthcare completed the acquisitions of United Surgical Partners International and Aspen Healthcare.

SurgCenter Development and a group of physicians are building a new joint venture surgery center in Athens, Ohio, according to a report from The Athens News.

TriState Centers for Sight purchased MidWest EyeCenter.

Southern Pines, N.C.-based Carolina Eye Associates is acquiring Southeastern Eye Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Physicians Endoscopy acquired the Endoscopy Center of West Central Ohio in Lima.

National Surgical Healthcare, based in Chicago, acquired a majority stake in Savannah, Ga.-based Optim Healthcare, an orthopedics-focused health system that includes an ambulatory surgery center in Savannah.

Carolina Eye Associates acquired Southeastern Eye Center.

Cottage Health System in Santa Barbara, Calif., plans to sell Santa Barbara Outpatient Surgery Center.

Goshen Ambulatory Care Center was purchased by Indiana University Health Goshen Hospital, who will make upgrades to the center.

Memorial Health, based in Marysville, Ohio, plans to fully acquire the Marysville Ohio Surgical Center.

Physicians Endoscopy acquired a stake in the Philadelphia Gastroenterology Consultants Endoscopy Center of Excellence.

Mercy Health, based in Cincinnati, acquired the Surgery Center at Regency Park in Toledo, Ohio.

Bloss Memorial Healthcare District, based in Atwater, Calif., acquired the Central California Dental Surgicenter, also in Atwater.

Surgery Partners acquired a majority interest in Delaware Outpatient Center for Surgery in Newark.

Weston Eye Center in Roseburg, Ore., became a part of the NVISION Laser Eye Centers network. Jon-Mar Weston, MD, will retain a stake in the center, taking on NVISION as a shareholder.

Sheridan, now the physician services division of AmSurg, acquired the radiology services business Radisphere. Radisphere, which has offices in Ohio and Connecticut, is a group of more than 100 radiologists.

AtlantiCare, an Atlantic City, N.J.-based healthcare organization, has opened its third outpatient surgery center. AtlantiCare's newest surgery center, located in Little Egg Harbor, N.J., is the former Sea Oaks Surgery Center. The health system recently acquired the center.

NYC Surgical Associates affiliate, Centers for Special Surgery, agreed to acquire 90 percent interest in an ASC. The acquisition of the 5,000-square-foot single operating room ambulatory surgery center, located in Rockland County, N.Y., is subject to the approval of New York State's Public Health and Health Planning Council and the New York State Department of Health.

Physicians Realty Trust, a self-managed healthcare properties REIT, acquired two West Tennessee Bone and Joint buildings in Jackson for $9.9 million. The buildings house an ASC, physician offices and imaging services.

 

Joint Ventures

Physicians Endoscopy has formed a new joint venture with Garden State Endoscopy Center in Kenilworth, N.J.

Metro Health, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., is planning a joint venture with Community Health Systems, based in Franklin, Tenn.

Surgical Institute of Reading partnered with United Surgical Partners International and its affiliate Reading Surgery Center.

Tenet Healthcare and United Surgical Partners International have formed a joint venture ambulatory surgery center business.

UCF College of Medicine and Florida Hospital, both in Orlando, have partnered to offer a number of services in Lake Nona, Fla. Eventually an ASC will open on the third floor of a 100,000 square-foot medical office where both are now tenants.

Children's Health System of Texas in Dallas has partnered with James Andrews, MD, to establish an orthopedic and sports medicine clinic for student athletes and build an ambulatory surgery center in Plano, Texas.
