Great Neck, N.Y.-based Northwell Health formed a clinical affiliation with Syracuse, N.Y.-based Crouse Health.
Here are five things to know:
1. Through the affiliation, the health systems will collaborate on creating programs and services for New York residents.
2. Crouse will maintain its independence as a community hospital and keep its current board governance structure based on the deal's terms.
3. Crouse performs more than 17,000 procedures on an inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory basis each year.
4. The health has two large ASC in New York, one of which has 19 operating rooms and is 90,000 square feet.
5. Over the past couple years, Northwell has expanded its ASC presence. The health system completed its ninth ASC joint venture in February.
