Here are 10 recent ambulatory surgery center plans, expansions and openings.

Integrated Medical Professionals, a multispecialty physician group, has opened Advanced Colon & Rectal Surgery Centers of New York in Melville. The center will provide colonoscopies, treatment options for several GI conditions and surgical intervention for conditions such as colon cancer and Crohn's disease.

The North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation has approved acceleration of a review of Greensboro Specialty Surgical Center's certificate of need application for a $5 million expansion project. The ASC is affiliated with Surgical Care Affiliates.

Merritt Healthcare announced the development of surgery center in Bridgeport, Conn. Merritt has partnered with 12 physicians in various specialties to relocate a center to a new location.

The Public Health and Health Planning Council of the New York Department of Health has given the Niagara Ambulatory Surgery Center project an initial recommendation of approval for a five-year certification period. The ASC will be owned by the physicians of Fichte Endl & Elmer Eyecare.

The Stark County Regional Planning Commission has granted approval for the construction of a 50,616-square-foot medical office building and ambulatory surgery center in Canton, Ohio.

Symbion Healthcare and St. Louis Surgery Center have partnered with three physicians to open the St. Louis Incontinence Institute, an ambulatory surgery center dedicated to providing care for incontinence patients.

Plans for the construction of a 12,545-square-foot surgery center in Temecula, Calif., have been approved. The center will open near Temecula Valley Hospital. Vivere-Health and a group of physicians have opened the joint venture Vivere-Audubon Surgery Center and in vitro fertilization laboratory in New Orleans. The ASC is a joint venture between a group of physicians, Vivere-Health and Medical Executive Partners.

Vivere-Health and Kenneth Moghdam, MD, have opened the Vivere-Austin Surgery Center, which includes two operating rooms, an andrology laboratory and in vitro fertilization laboratory.
