Bradley, Ill.-based OAK Surgical Institute recently achieved accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.  

The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery named Excela Health a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.

Christopher Duma, MD, will perform his Deep Brain Stimulation implantation for Parkinson's Disease treatment at DISC Surgery Center in Newport Beach, Calif.

Three ophthalmologists of the Eye Clinic of Texas have been named "Best Doctors" in a peer survey that rates them in the top 5 percent of U.S. physicians. The award went to Bernard Milstein, MD, Allan Fradkin, MD, and Da-Thuy Van, MD, of the Eye Clinic of Texas, an affiliate of Houston Eye Associates.

Tabor Orthopedics in Memphis, Tenn., had a photovoltaic solar system installed on its roof and will receive a federal tax credit equal to 30 percent of their renewable energy investment.

The Surgery Center of Oklahoma has received an Entrepreneurial Excellence Award from Commissioner of Labor Mark Costello.

The first surgery has been performed at Norton Hospital's St. Matthew's Pediatric Surgery Center at Suburban in Louisville, Ky. The first outpatient procedure will be performed by Mike Brown, MD.

Edward Khalfayan, MD, team physician for the Seattle Seahawks, performed elbow surgery on right tackle Breno Giacomini. The arthroscopic procedure was performed at Seattle Surgery Center.

RMH Bariatric Surgery Center in Harrisonburg, Va., received accreditation from ACS Bariatric Surgery Center Network.

Raquel Rios (Ortiz) has been named administrator of Crystal Run Ambulatory Surgery Center of Middletown (N.Y.).
