10 Hospitals & Health Systems Opening or Planning Surgery Centers
Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y., has opened a new multispecialty ambulatory surgery center at its Suffern Medical Pavilion.
Olympic Medical Center is currently seeking approval for an $8 million project that would include the addition of a surgery center in Sequim, Wash.
St. Joseph's Health System has opened the 6,500-square-foot, two-operating room St. Joseph's Children's Hospital Pediatric SurgiCare Center in Fair Lawn, N.J.
Eastern Niagara Hospital plans to develop a 13,500-square-foot surgery center at its Health Care Center in Lockport, N.Y. The center is expected to open in 2014.
Providence Park Hospital in Novi, Mich., and Michigan Endoscopy Center in Farmington Hills have received a certificate of need for the addition of a joint venture endoscopy center on the hospital's campus. The center is expected to open in December.
The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services has granted UC Health approval for the construction of an $8.8 million ambulatory care clinic in Florence, Ky. The clinic is expected to open in 2015.
Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit plans to build a $42 million outpatient facility in Troy. The pediatric outpatient center will offer general surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, nephrology, neurology and oncology services.
New York Methodist Hospital plans to a build a new outpatient facility in Brooklyn, which will include a surgery center, cancer center and endoscopy suite.
Kaleida Health and a physician group have filed plans with the New York State Health Department for the construction of a $2.65 million ambulatory surgery center in Orchard Park.
The University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center intends to file a certificate of need with the state's health department for the construction of an ambulatory surgery center. URMC also plans to file a CON for a freestanding emergency room.
