What Can Implantable Device Benefit Management Do For ASCs?

At the 10th Annual Orthopedic, Spine and Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference in Chicago on June 16, Chris Crisman, national vice president and general manager of Implantable Provider Group, and Lynne Stoldt, administrator of Melbourne (Fla.) Same Day Surgery Center, shared their experiences with implantable device benefit management in ASCs.

A DBM company provides implantable devices to facilities by assuming the financial risk for the device.

This arrangement benefits Melbourne Same Day Surgery Center's cash flow because the facility does not have to put money out for the implants covered by IPG, Ms. Stoldt said. Under this arrangement, the center has also expanded its offerings to urological and cardiac procedures.
