Surefire Medical Receives FDA Clearance for Microcatheter

Surefire Medical has announced it has received FDA 510(k) for its Surefire high-flow microcatheter, according to a news release.

 

The catheter system is designed to significantly reduce backflow and deliver therapy with higher infusion efficiency than conventional microcatheters, according to the company

 

"Working with key interventional radiologists, our research and development team has created a highly trackable, sleek microcatheter designed to accommodate smaller vessels and selective procedures," said Jim Chomas, CEO of Surefire Medical, in the release. "The addition of the Surefire high-flow microcatheter will enable physicians to treat more patients with addressable disease."

 

Surefire Medical is headquartered in Westminster, Colo.
