5 spine, orthopedic devices for ASCs

Here are five medical devices for outpatient spine and orthopedic procedures.

coflex Interlaminar Technology. The interlaminar stabilization device, developed by Paradigm Spine, is indicated for use in one- or two-level lumbar stenosis. It includes titanium alloy that is biocompatible and X-ray visible. In July, Paradigm Spine published two separate independent prospective clinical studies showing safety and efficacy of the coflex device.

ConforMIS iUni G2 Device. The unicompartmental knee implant from ConforMIS preserves the parts of the knee not damaged by arthritis and provides a customized fit specific to the patient's knee. It is designed to mimic the natural shape of your knee and reduce the amount of bone preparation and bone cuts to allow for a less traumatic procedure.

Compact Ankle Fracture System. The consolidated ankle fracture solution for outpatient surgery centers from DePuy Synthes Select offers color-coded layout for instrument identification as well as solid and cannulated screws for syndesmotic repair and medical malleolus fractures. It includes re-contoured fibula plates, 1/3 tubular plates and hook plates, enabling surgeons to choose the appropriate option based on the complexity of the fracture.

Navio Surgical System. The system from Blue Belt Technologies includes a planning and navigation platform that offers virtual cutting guide and an intelligent hand-held instrument to surgeons. The system is built on an open implant-architecture platform, allowing for multiple supported implant systems. It allows the surgeon to precisely resurface bone based on a predefined plan.

Quintex Anterior Plating System. The comprehensive plating system from Aesculap offers a low-profile plate design coupled with simple implantation and screw insertion, zero-step locking and universal soft-feel instrumentation. It allows surgeons to tailor translation for dynamic constructs, control settling during fusion and address instability at specific levels with a more rigid construct.
