Saint Mary's College student tests positive for bacterial meningitis

A case of bacterial meningitis has hospitalized a Saint Mary's College student, who tested positive for the contagious infection.

According to a college spokesman, the student is being treated in the hospital and health officials say there have no reports of other infections.

The college provided antibiotics for those who came in close contact with the infected student. The college also cleaned and sanitized bathrooms and classrooms, reports the San Jose Mercury News.
