ASC Leader to Know: William Wilcox of United Surgical Partners International
Prior to his appointment as chairman of the board and the executive committee, Mr. Wilcox served as USPI's president and CEO from its inception until 2004. Before founding USPI, he served as CEO of United Dental Care, president of the Surgery Group of HCA and president and CEO of the ambulatory surgery division of HCA.
In August, USPI released its second quarter financial results, which shows the company's net revenues grew 5 percent compared to the same quarter in 2011. Second-quarter financial results were driven by systemwide revenue growth of 12 percent, consisting of 4 percent same-facility revenue growth and acquisition activity.
“We are pleased that our volume growth has been more robust during the first half of 2012," Mr. Wilcox said. "We will continue to focus on organic growth initiatives and expect that acquisitions of new facilities will continue at the historical pace, albeit after a slow start."
