Paul Slosar, MD, is a spine surgeon and president of SpineCare Medical Group and the group's non-profit research arm, the San Francisco Spine Institute, a position he has held since 2007. Dr. Slosar's previous leadership appointments at SpineCare Medical Group include assistant director of surgical fellowship and surgical research for the San Francisco Spine Institute.
Dr. Slosar earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He also completed a general surgery internship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., where he also completed an orthopedic surgery residency. An additional spine surgery fellowship was completed at SpineCare Medical Group. In addition to his clinical work at SpineCare Medical Group, Dr. Slosar is affiliated with several hospitals and Presidio Surgery Center, also in San Francisco.
"I am excited to see how well patients continue to do with minimally invasive spinal surgeries," Dr. Slosar said of emerging technologies in spine. "Outpatient spinal surgery is growing and my patients are very satisfied when they can be discharged on the same day of a surgery. It is also a huge cost savings for patients and insurance carriers."
