ASC Leader to Know: Deborah Lee Crook of Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center
Deborah Lee Crook, RN, CASC, has served as the administrator of Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center in St. Charles, Ill., for nearly seven years. The facility boasts patient satisfaction rates of more than 99 percent, post-operative infection rates less than 0.1 percent and up to 50 percent lower healthcare costs compared to a local hospital. VASC offers a wide range of specialties, including urology, ENT, gastroenterology, anesthesiology, orthopedics, plastics, OB/GYN, pain management and more.
Ms. Crook first joined VASC in 1993 as a pre-op nurse and climbed the ranks to director of nursing at VASC's post-surgical recovery care center Valley Medical Inn, a position she held from 1997 to 2006.
Earlier this year, Ms. Crook was appointed to serve as a member of the Illinois Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Licensing Board. Her term will expire Nov. 15, 2014.
