Christopher Holden is the CEO, president and director of AmSurg, one of the largest ambulatory surgery center management and development companies. AmSurg is currently partnered with 243 surgery centers. Mr. Holden has served as the company's CEO, president and director since 2007, when he joined AmSurg. "Chris Holden has added another level of professionalism, intelligence and systematic leadership to AmSurg," says Scott Becker, JD, CPA.

In the second quarter of 2013, AmSurg reported $269.3 million in revenue, a 17 percent increase from the same period last year. The company also gained an additional five centers in the second quarter under a letter of intent.

"Clearly Chris' positive leadership has benefitted the stakeholders at AmSurg and played an important role in the company's success during a challenging period of time for healthcare providers. Chris has also shown great leadership through collaboration with thought leaders in ASC industry," says Greg Koonsman, CFA, senior partner and founder of VMG Health.

Mr. Holden has more than 21 years of experience in healthcare. Prior to joining AmSurg, he held several leadership roles with Columbia/HCA Healthcare and served as a founding team member and officer of Triad Hospitals. At Triad, Mr. Holden held the roles of senior vice president and a division president.

"Chris Holden has a unique and deep understanding of the key success factors required healthcare partnerships. Back to his days at both Columbia/HCA and Triad Hospitals, Chris was a part of the team that created and perfected the for-profit/not-for-profit hospital partnership model. As a former Hospital Division President, Chris understands both the importance of partnerships with high quality physicians as well as the positive role that hospitals and health systems can play in the development and management of successful surgery center partnerships," says Mr. Koonsman.
