Spotlight on ASC Leadership: 5 Recent Industry Moves

Here are five recent ambulatory surgery center administrative and company leadership changes.

James Hogan has become the director of strategic development with Symbion. He previously served as the administrator of Red Rock Surgery Center in Las Vegas.

Sarah Malaniak, previously the administrator of Teaneck Surgical Center, has become the administrator of the Ambulatory Center for Endoscopy in North Bergen, N.J.

Thomas Sprunk has joined Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America as a vice president of acquisitions and business development. Prior to his current role, Mr. Sprunk was a vice president of acquisitions and development with AmSurg.

William R. Thornton, MD, FACS, has joined the San Antonio Eye Center. Dr. Thornton has a special interest in ophthalmic and reconstructive surgery.

Mary Ulaent has become the administrator of Northwest Jersey Ambulatory Surgery Center in Sparta. She previously served as director of administrative services at American SurgiSite Center in Somerset, N.J.
