Mr. Murphy formed ASC Turnaround Group in New York City to expand his reach in the ASC community by acquiring and rehabilitating failing surgery centers as well as developing new ones. His joint venture with Henry Bloom, Surgery Centers of the Greater Metropolitan Area, is another ASC development and management company in the process of growing its first surgery center — the Center for Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery — in Eatontown, N.J.
