7 Recent Surgery Center & ASC Company Leadership Moves

Here are seven recent leadership changes within the surgery center industry.

Bradley Cardenas, previously a business owner, has assumed the role of administrator and CEO of United Surgical Partners International's Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Northwest in Houston. Mr. Cardenas's previous experience includes group vice president of ASC operations at Nueterra Healthcare and vice president of ASC operations at Foundation Healthcare Management. He has served in his new role for four months.

Leslie Mattson, previously the administrator of The Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Center in Atlanta, Ga., has recently assumed the position of director of clinical operations at ActionMed Surgical. ActionMed Surgical, based in Macon, Ga., offers surgery centers administrative, billing, marketing, business development, human resources, materials management, partnership management and quality management services. Ms. Mattson has served in her new role for two months.

Kimberly L. Tude Thuot served as the administrator of Yakima (Wash.) Ambulatory Surgical Center for more than four years. She recently moved into the role of director of the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, Va. Ms. Tude Thuot has held her new position for a month.

Robert McDavitt, RN, MBA, CASC, previously served as senior vice president at Outpatient Healthcare Strategies, a surgery center management and development company. Mr. McDavitt is now director of Ambulatory Surgery Centers/West Div. for Tenet Healthcare. He has held the position for 10 months. His past experience also includes a consulting position with ASC strategies.  

Jana Jones is currently the administrator of The Regional Medical Center at Memphis ambulatory surgery center, which will open this fall. Previously, Ms. Jones served as the COO of Eye Specialty Group & Ridge Lake Ambulatory Surgery Center in Memphis, Tenn. Ms. Jones has been in her new position for seven months.

Dale Bowman is now the clinical director of LifeCenter Surgery Center in Sacramento, Calif. She has held this role for nine months. Her past experience also includes chief nursing officer at Sutter Surgical Hospital Valley North in Yuba City, Calif. Ms. Bowman has served as the administrator of several surgery centers and as a board member of the California Ambulatory Surgery Association.

Jennifer Lathram is now the administrator of the Surgery Center of Decatur (Ala.) and the director of physician practices at Decatur Morgan Hospital. The Surgery Center of Decatur is a joint venture between the hospital and local surgeons. Ms. Lathram's past experience includes serving as an administrator and business office manager of Florence, Ala., surgery center.
