Job Opening: Symbion Seeks Regional Vice President

MAIN FUNCTION

The Regional Vice President is accountable for those ambulatory surgery centers assigned in accordance with Symbion's operating policies and procedures. As such, he/she is responsible for assisting the Facility Administrator in developing the annual budget and strategic plan for the centers. The regional officer serves as a support person to the Facility Administrators and a liaison to corporate resources. Individual must understand each operating environment and be able to organize, train and delegate to facility personnel and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

REQUIREMENTS

1. Demonstrates cooperative work attitude with subordinates, co-employees, physicians, center staff and public contacts.

2. Ability to work independently with a minimum of direction with multiple projects simultaneously.

3. Is Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

4. Maintains regular attendance habits.

5. Has administrative ability, initiative, resourcefulness, executive and analytical ability; ability to deal effectively and harmoniously with all groups and individuals; effective public speaking skills and demonstrates good interpersonal relations.

6. Must be able to communicate articulately, comprehend written and verbal communications; and must be able to function efficiently in stressful work environment.

7. Ability to travel.

 

DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accountable for regional budget development and financial performance.

2. Provides supervision and training to facility administrators and regional business office directors.

3. Identifies and explores leads for new development projects.

4. Coordinates new center development or acquisition transition.

- Hires management staff as necessary.

- Obtains necessary licenses and certification.

- Schedules required surveys or inspections.

- Markets center to physicians and major employers.

- Identifies and contracts all major insurance plans.

- Establishes appropriate fee schedule based on local market.

- Appoints medical board and medical advisory committee.

5. Seeks out innovative methods to increase market share.

6. Facilitates communication amongst facilities and corporate to enhance team effort.

7. Visits facilities on a regular basis and attends scheduled board and investor meetings.

8. Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION

Reports to Group President.

 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ASSETS

1. Physical assets of the center and corporate assets.

2. Symbion manuals.
