Job Opening: Director of Nursing at Ridges Surgery Center

Ridges Surgery Center is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead the clinical team, including staff in the Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Pre-Admissions, and Sterile Processing.  The Ridges Surgery Center is a new multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center located in a new 130,000 sq ft medical office building attached to Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN.

Position Purpose:
•    The Director of Nursing is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facility.
•    The Director of Nursing will work with the Medical Director to Co-Lead the Clinical Operations Committee responsible for Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program
•    The Director of Nursing will be responsible for Clinical Education and Orientation for the facility
•    As a Registered Nurse, the Director of Nursing is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.
•    Assumes responsibility as Department Manager of PACU/ERU Departments.
•    Assumes some responsibility of the Administrator in his/her absence.
 
Education, Experience, and Licensure:
•    Has successfully completed bachelor’s degree in nursing with a current state nursing license.  
•    3-5 yrs of experience in ambulatory surgery nursing (preferred), or hospital surgery department.
•    Preferably 2 yrs experience in charge nurse or management role.
•    Experience with Regulatory and Accreditation Surveys (CMS, and Joint Commission/AAAHC Accreditation)
•    Knowledge in CMS, OSHA, Accreditation, and AORN Standards.
•    Direct experience with Performance Improvement Initiatives
•    Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
•    Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
