Job Opening: COO in Georgia (Savannah)

An exempt, executive management position responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all operations of a 20-office orthopedic practice, 30 orthopedic surgeons and pain management physicians, three rural hospitals, ASC, imaging center, therapy and growing primary care network.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees the daily operations of the entire organization (with the exception of Finance and Information Technology).
  2. Assists chief executive officer in developing and implementing the strategic long- and short-range plans and its business plan.
  3. Represents clinic, surgery center, hospitals and therapy with regulatory agencies, insurance carriers, and other professional and community groups.
  4. Negotiates with managed care plans and ensures the company's long-term financial stability.
  5. Maintains compliance with governmental regulations and healthcare requirements.
  6. Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment and high-quality patient care.
  7. Assist in recruiting and managing physicians.


Education: Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or public administration.


Experience: Ten years of healthcare management experience of at least senior-management level.


Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge of policies and procedures to manage operations and ensure effective patient care.
  2. Knowledge of the principles and practices of healthcare administration, fiscal management, and government regulations and reimbursements.


Skills:

  1. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion.
  2. Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.
  3. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  4. Skill in organizing work, delegating and achieving goals and objectives.
  5. Skill in exercising judgment and discretion in developing, interpreting, and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
  6. Skill in understanding the very complex dynamics of a multi-specialty physician practice with diverse physicians.


Abilities:

  1. Ability to plan, organize, and integrate priorities and deadlines.
  2. Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational problems.
  3. Ability to evaluate and make recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
  4. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
