The American Medical Association has criticized the Medicare 2014 proposed physician fee schedule, which lowers pay for indicated services performed in the ambulatory surgery center or hospital outpatient department, according to a Kaiser Health News report.
At the same time, Medicare would pay more for the 200 indicated services when they are provided in a physician's office. The AMA also defended the Medicare physician payment advisory panel, which has been under attack.
