A contract dispute between Health Net and Arizona-based Dignity Health has left approximately 5,000 Arizonans without coverage, The Arizona Republic reports.

1. The hospital and payer had a three-year contract which expired May 20.
2. Despite several months of negotiations, the payer and hospital have yet to come to terms, the Republic reports. Neither side offered The Republic a potential timetable.
3. The hospital argues reimbursement rates are a point of contention.
4. Health Net provides insurance to 598,000 state residents. The dispute affects those beneficiaries that go to a Dignity Health facility. The payer said it would reach out to the affected parties.
5. This is the second dispute the state has dealt with this year. The Republic reports a similar dispute between UnitedHealthcare and Northwest Healthcare of Tucson temporarily disrupted coverage for thousands of Arizonans. The parties settled the dispute approximately a week afterwards.
