New SGR bill does not contain reference to ICD-10 delay

History is not set to repeat itself, at least thus far. Last year, a sustainable growth rate patch was passed that included a caveat: another ICD-10 delay. Tomorrow, the U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote on another SGR bill, which does not include any reference to a further delay, according to a HealthData Management report.

The bill, which has bi-partisan support, would increase Medicare payments 0.5 percent annually for the next five years. The bill also includes a call for a further delay of the "two-midnight" rule, as well as a number of health IT elements, according to the report.

Barring any amendments, this bill will not be the source of another ICD-10 derailment.
