A recently-enacted Arkansas law calls for certain Medicaid procedures performed in ambulatory surgery centers to be reimbursed at 80 percent of the Medicare rate paid for the same procedure at a hospital outpatient department.
The goal of House Bill 1968, according to its official language, is to decrease Medicaid costs while increasing access to care for that state's Medicaid population.
