Kentucky, Arkansas have largest drop in residents without health insurance: 5 notes

A Gall-up Healthways survey found Arkansas and Kentucky lead the nation in the largest reduction in the number of residents lacking health insurance, according to abc 6 news.

Here are five notes:

1. In 2013, 20 percent of Kentucky residents did not have health insurance.

2. In 2014, only 7.5 percent of Kentuckians did not have health insurance.

3. Arkansas had a similar drop in the number of uninsured residents.

4. Despite the improvements, one-third of Kentuckians receive government subsidies.

5. The following states lead the nation in the number of insured residents: Massachusetts, Hawaii, Vermont, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Connecticut and North Dakota.
