Healthcare costs ranks as #1 economic burden — 6 findings

A GOBankingRates.com survey found Americans ranked healthcare costs as their top economic burden.

Here are six findings:

•    Thirty-one percent of Americans ranked healthcare costs as their top economic burden.

•    Following healthcare costs, Social Security benefits came in a relatively distant second with 16 percent of Americans ranking it as a top economic burden.

•    Fifteen percent of respondents said income inequality was the leading economic burden, followed by tax increases (13 percent), higher education costs (13 percent) and military spending (11 percent).
