Dr. David C. Redd takes a cash-only approach to minor surgery

Setting up shop behind a grocery store and next to a Great Clips, David C. Redd MD, PC, decided to bypass the bureaucratic world of insurance payments and bills and open Quicksurge, an outpatient surgery center where he performs mole removals and other minor surgeries, taking only cash in a direct-pay model, reports Times Free Press.

Dr. Redd charges $50 to $300 for procedures, and believes by cutting out the middle man he is able to keep prices low.

"I wanted to bring this business back to the fundamental doctor-patient relationship,"
Dr. Redd told the Times Free Press.
