CareCredit is celebrating 30 years in business.
Founded as a financing option for patients receiving dental implants, the company now provides flexible payment options for services across the board, including cosmetic, hearing, vision and health-focused retailers.
Here are five key milestones for the company over the past 30 years:
1. CareCredit has provided nearly $70 billion in care financed since opening in 1987.
2. Patients have opened more than 24 million accounts since the company's inception. CareCredit also covers veterinary care.
3. The company maintains success, with more than 12,000 people applying for CareCredit per day; there is a new cardholder approved every 14 seconds on average.
4. There are more than 822,000 card acceptance locator searches on the CareCredit website per month on average.
5. Around two-thirds of dental practices and 70 percent of veterinary practices in the U.S. accept CareCredit.
