Are more physicians participating in ACOs? 8 statistics on physician participation in different payment models

The "Medscape Physician Compensation Report" found 39 percent of primary care physicians are participating in accountable care organizations.

Here are seven more statistics:

1. Thirty-one percent of specialists participate in ACOs.

2. Of primary care physicians, 6 percent are not in an ACO currently but plan to be this year.

3. Five percent of specialists who are not in an ACO but plan to be this year.

4. Six percent of specialists have cash-only practices.

5. Of primary care physicians, five percent have cash-only practices.

6. Three percent of specialists have concierge practices.

7. Four percent of primary care physicians have concierge practices.
