The American Health Information Management Association recently signed an ICD-10 coalition letter urging HHS to set the new ICD-10 implementation date as Oct. 1, 2015, limiting the delay to one year, according to an insurancenewsnet report.
The letter stressed the importance of a concrete deadline, without which healthcare stakeholders will not know how to create a preparation and investment timeline.
Several organizations, along with AHIMA, signed the letter. Signatories include:
