A 134% increase — Employees paying significantly more for healthcare

Compared to a decade ago, employees pay 134 percent more for healthcare, according to newsmax.

Here are five highlights:

1. In 2015, employees paid an average of $4,700 for health insurance.

2. Employees paid a mere $2,011 in 2005.

3. In a survey conducted by Lincolnshire, Ill.-based Aon Heritt, a human-resource firm, 38 percent of employers raised their healthcare costs in the past year.

4. The survey found another 46 percent of employers plan to raise healthcare costs in the near future.

5. Additionally, 18 percent of surveyed companies said they are cutting subsidies for covered dependents, and 17 percent are adding surcharges for adult dependents who have other health coverage.
