Patient First, Virginia's largest primary and urgent healthcare provider, is no longer accepting new Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield patients, according to WTVVR 6.

Here are six things to know:

1. The provider claims Anthem's low reimbursement rate is the reason the provider will not accept new patients.

2. Patient First's decision went into effect Feb. 2.

3. The provider is also excluding all Anthem's existing members with HealthKeepers Plus Plans.

4. Anthem's media contact says the payer reimburses Patient First the same rates it pays other healthcare providers in the state.

5. Patient First accepts CoventryCares of Virginia, InTotal Health, Virginia Premier and Optima Family Care plans.

6. On its website, Patient First wrote, "In order to provide our patients with the best care possible, we have always protected ourselves against unreasonable reimbursement practices that would prevent us from preserving the breadth and quality of our services."
