4 reasons more people are using direct-care

More Americans are utilizing Direct Health Care to bypass health insurance, according to wbay.com.

Here are four reasons:

1. Direct-care providers charge much less than a standard trip to a physician's office.

2. Various direct-care providers require upfront payment while others charge a monthly fee for unlimited services. Some direct-care providers charge on a pay-as-you-go basis.

3. Ten percent of U.S. physicians are projected to alter some form of direct-pay care in the next three years.

4. Direct care has been described as "the nation's fastest-growing job sector."
