Pediatric Specialists of Virginia achieve AAAHC accreditation — 5 key notes

Pediatric Specialists of Virginia received accreditation, according to the AAAHC newsletter.

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care conducted a survey and granted accreditation to the Pediatric Specialists of Virginia. Here are five things to know about the group:

1. Pediatric Specialists is a public charity created as a medical group by Children's National Health System and Inova to focus on providing care for children.

2. Leon E. Moores, MD, is CEO of the practice, which includes eight locations.

3. The Ambulatory Surgery Center of Pediatric Specialists of Virginia is designed for children and includes fellowship-trained pediatric physicians and pediatric anesthesiologists.

4. Procedures preformed at the center include hernia repair, tonsillectomy, osteotomies, tendon lengthening and eye muscle surgery. The center also has urology and plastic and reconstructive surgery services.

5. There are five specialists at the center, led by Medical Director Ramesh Patel, MD.
